Tonight is my book group meeting. The group is coming over here this time. I have some yummy snacks that I picked up at the local bakery. I have spot cleaned the house - though I don't have energy to do much more than that.
We have a funny sort of book group. I am the youngest member. Most of the women are in their late forties or early fifties - and they are all members of my church. And contrary to all stereotypes - we read the most wonderfully controversial books. The conversations are excellent - well informed, respectful and open minded. I really enjoy it.
Additionally - most book group meetings go until the wee hours of the morning (by middle aged standards). It is not unheard of to have a meeting run until one in the morning. This is not your mother's book club - and, yet, that is exactly what it is. I love it.
